Reflection and planning

After the day working with projections I felt really inspired and definitely wanting to continue using them for that weeks project. I thought that if I found a way to somehow combine my collage idea with this media maybe it would be easier to execute and the outcome could still be something interesting.

While I was editing the collage on photoshop, one of the layers really caught my attention. Its blandness and subtle presence reminds me of make up residue on a tissue, or a face that is slowly fading away in memory/ presence. The work sedimentaciones by Oscar Muniz was mentioned by my tutor and I feel like they are very similar and at some point maybe connected. I wanted to bring the same feeling it provokes to my piece, so I began by doing one graphite illustration and later on some watercolour portraits, aiming that they would translate the same blurriness and mysteriousness as the photoshop layer.
